Who is Dr. Tamara Lei?

I’m the founder and head practitioner of the Emeryville-based Reclaim Your Health Chiropractic Care, and for much of my life I’ve had people close to me struggle with chronic illnesses and become discouraged from trying treatment after treatment with no lasting effect. I believe that this experience helped me to realize my passion and mission: to bring to my practice the components that are missing from traditional healthcare. These includes:

A holistic approach and understanding that our physical, chemical, and emotional states of being are linked in a complex and interdependent system.
A focus on the root causes of illness and injury—not just the symptom.
And a sense of empowerment for patients around their own health and body processes.

I’m grateful for lessons I’ve learn from my interpersonal experiences because they have shaped my chiropractic philosophy and care, and my formal education has been equally as beneficial. While a student at Northwestern University, I studied biomedical engineering, and while playing Division I collegiate soccer, I gained first-hand experience with the treatment of sports injuries. Later as a student at Life Chiropractic College West (LCCW), I worked as a personal trainer, expanding my expertise in the treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and attended workshops and seminars on specialized chiropractic techniques, such as extremity adjustments and physical rehabilitation. Graduating as valedictorian with top honors from LCCW, I was a guest teacher for doctoral level classes on several occasions. Even though I worked well in the classroom setting, I declined offers to teach so that I could focus on serving the Bay Area community.
